ISU's men were picked 3rd, the women 6th in the preseason MVC media poll. This seems about right based on who is returning from last season. Hopefully both ISU teams finish high at the MVC meet later this Fall.

I know polls mean nothing, but here is the one most people go by, released today, ISU opponents in bold. I'd say ISU has it's work cut out for them, given they play two I-A teams as well. The only unranked teams on the ISU schedule are SEMO, Mizzou State, and Illinois State.

Considering that Indiana State women?s cross country coach John Gartland has placed the Sycamores in the top five in the conference meet every year but once (2002) since his arrival in 1988, it is a slap in the face for his team to be picked seventh in 2007.
