Figured I'd start game threads for the Lady Sycamores, too. The Ladies will play San Diego State on 11/23 and should have a good go at the Aztecs. San Diego State has to play two more games before playing our Sycamores, St Mary's (CA) on 11/17 and Southern Utah on 11/20.

For those that missed the Vandy Game, here is a recap from ESPN:

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- Kelsey Luna scored 22 points and Indiana State shot 85 percent from the free-throw line to upset Vanderbilt 77-72 in overtime Wednesday night.

Christina Wirth led Vanderbilt (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Liz Sherwood scored 19.

Laura Rudolphi had 17 points and six rebounds for Indiana State. Maria Olsthoorn added 12 points.

Vanderbilt (2-1) outshot the Sycamores (2-0) from the field, going 32-of-58 (55.2 percent) compared with the hosts' 40 percent. But the Commodores made just 3 of 14 free throws, while Indiana State was 17-of-20.

The Sycamores held a 27-26 edge at halftime, but the Commodores shot 63 percent in the second half to tie the game at 63 after regulation.

The White Level
I was at the game and even though the stats from ESPN are correct if you missed this game you missed a dandy! The top scorers are always listed in the stats as they well should be but this game was an entire team effort. What can anyone say about Luna? She is the glue which holds this team together and she does this and is only a sophomore. L. Phillips played the longest last night with I think 41 minutes of playing time and got up and down the floor well and was a major contributor to their win. Rudy had to go against their monster player and did very well blocking her out and still was a force in the paint for us. She is one tough kid. Schilli was a beast last night. That kid is a hell of an athlete! And to round out the starters A. Phillips is our floor leader and what a leader she is! Besides the ones mentioned the ones that came off the bench were also outstanding. MO plays with such poise and filled in well when Rudy needs a break. And we get her 2 more years. Way to go ladies. We are all proud of you and Coach Wiedie has done a great job with these kids. The smiles on their faces and the fun they were having on the court is what college bassketball is all about and thanks to coach and his staff for getting them there. Its a game I know they will remember for a long time.

I was there last night also but I have a different perspective even though it was a VERY BIG WIN. The first half by Rudolphi was the worst I have ever seen her play. Schilli's game the whole way was the best I have ever seen from her. She has had long spurts of that kind of play in the past but not for a whole game like last night. Luna was totally defended from even taking a shot during the 1st half but DAMN DID SHE GET IT GOING IN THE 2ND HALF & O.T. Everyone did play with intensity most the whole way and every bit of it was necessary to pull it out.
