from the Dekalb, Ill newspaper, looks like ISU has offered this kid a schollie.

Especially players like Jordan Threloff, a highly-recruited 6-foot-10 DeKalb High junior who went to NIU during his study hall hour. He brought his shoes, just in case, and ended up getting to take the court with Billups.

?It was a great experience,? said Threloff, who already has scholarship offers from NIU, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Detroit-Mercy, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Loyola of Chicago. ?It?s an honor to play with him. He?s dedicated his life to get where he has been and it shows.?

Threloff gets offer from Drake

DeKalb High senior center Jordan Threloff got his 10th scholarship offer recently from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, after he attended a camp there.

Threloff’s offers are, in the order he received them, from Northern Illinois, Indiana State, Southern Illinois, Detroit, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Loyola (Chicago), Illinois State, DePaul, Bradley and Drake.

Threloff has a big weekend ahead of him as his Rising Stars 17U Gold team faced the Amare Stoudemire-sponsored Team Stat (from Florida) Thursday night to start the Chicago Summer Classic. Team Stat is led by Austin Rivers (Doc Rivers’ son).

Weinstein will do everything in his power to push him to Depaul, barring changes in his offer list. That is just what you are dealing with. And, before you are argue, I am (and he is as well) well aware that Depaul is one of the worst programs in the country and he is a poor fit for the "offense" the Demons run.

DeKalb High senior basketball player Jordan Threloff picked up his 12th Division I scholarship offer on Friday, this one coming from Elon.

Ball State offered him a scholarship on Thursday. His offer list, in chronological order, is: Northern Illinois, Indiana State, SIU, Detroit, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Loyola (Chicago), Illinois State, DePaul, Bradley, Drake, Ball State and Elon.

Thanks for the props. I really like Jordan and hope State has a legit shot with him. I was reading on a couple other MVC team forums that many think his coach will push him to DePaul, even though they don't use a big man in their offense.

As for the Rising Stars-Gold, they continue to get a strong, balanced attack featuring as many as five players who can reach double figures on any given night. It was this attack that did in the Illinois Kings, as well as the decidedly huge size advantage that the Rising Stars enjoyed inside. 6'10 Jordan Threloff from De Kalb High School in De Kalb, IL continues to show why he is among Illinois' top big man prospects. He has excellent hands, is finishing much better despite a lack of true jumping ability, and is going to war on both boards. Threloff has excellent shooting touch and a nice assortment of power moves with his back to the hoop. He states that he wants to commit early, and Coach Weinstein tells us it could happen as soon as August. Illinois State is in solid shape with him, but so are many Missouri Valley and Horizon League teams, as well as De Paul University, which would fit well with Threloff's game and De Paul's needs for a big guy.

While it was initially believed that 6'10 class of 2010 center Jordan Threloff from DeKalb High School in DeKalb, IL would be ready to offer a verbal commitment by the end of July, Mike Weinstein, Threloff's traveling team coach and the CEO of the Rising Stars is now telling us that both Threloff and 6'3 class of 2010 forward Rayvonte Rice from Centennial High School in Champaign, IL might take some extra time to weigh all of their options and see if additional scholarship offers come in. Thus, their recruitments could end up lasting a bit longer than originally expected.

Staying on the subject of Threloff and Rice, both players drew virtually an entire contingent of coaches from the Missouri Valley on the opening day of action, with Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Bradley, and Indiana State being among the schools represented.

11. Jordan Threloff, 6-9, C, DeKalb ... Just gets better and better by the month. His offensive game has really developed over the last six months, knocking down the 12-15 foot jumper and using a little jump-hook. Still has his limitations athletically which prevents him from being the rebounder you would like and a difference-maker on defense, but he's all of 6-9, huge and will be tough to move in college.
