Jonny Marlin - Hoosier fans love to compare Marlin, a 5-foot-10 guard at Center Grove (Greenwood area) to current IU point guard Jordan Hulls. Like Hulls he is a very smart point guard who makes good decisions and shoots it well. Needs to get better defensively for the next level but his great court sense is a big reason Center Grove had a big regular season, knocking off loaded teams like 4A state champ North Central and Carmel. Playing in the May Classic this weekend with a Spiece All Indiana team that features his high school teammates and D1 prospects Andy Smeathers and Joe Reed, a pair of 6'7ish forwards. Marlin dished out 5.9 assists per game his junior season.

There's two sad truths about this. 1) he will get a better coaching job by sitting on the bench at IU than he would have playing at IPFW. and 2) we are not teaching our youths the value of money. Only an oblivious person would turn down a $50k, free education.
