Indiana State coaches will be evaluating Tyler at the Ball State camp on June 9th. If he doesn't got FBS, he'd be a great pickup for the Sycamores. Family is full of Sycamores, too!

Be great to 'steal' him from ISU-M; is it down to we and they?

Sykes is having a good season so far for the #4 ranked CG Trojans. The safety is 2nd on the team in tackles, and led the team with tackles this past friday night at TH North.

We are starting to recruit more athletes from Center Grove on a regular basis and he would be a nice addition absolutely. I love the school spirit at CG~

recruiting Center Grove and other Indy schools

I know that Trent wants to recruit kids from schools like Center Grove, Warren Central, Ben Davis. Programs that have been successful and have good coaches leading those teams.

If you bring in kids who have played in successful high school programs, they tend to bring that winning attitude with them and it often rubs off on the other players.

Plus the other good thing is that Trent used to recruit from those programs when he was at Washington and Notre Dame, so the coaches at those high schools know him very well. His foot is already in the door at those schools.

I would like to see ISU make renewed inroads at Ben Davis, though. With Demetrius Dowler there as a coach and teacher, the Sycamores have an in at the school. Dowler played football and baseball at ISU and was highly successful at both sports.

Agreed about the indy schools that know how to win...that should be the number one place to start looking...also he should go to Pike, Indy cathedral, bishop chatard...and some other 4 OR 3 a schools in indy...Lots of talent. But I like this tyler sikes kid...good grades and very good number in the weight room for his size...he pursues to the ball well and comes downhill quick to lay a shoulder on someone...He could develop into a sewall type player...

The central Indiana area is replete with talented players who could end up at ISU

We've mentioned schools like Center Grove, Warren Central, and Ben Davis, as well as Pike, Chatard, and Cathedral. But there's also schools like Roncalli, Plainfield, Avon, Brownsburg, and Decatur Central, among others.

Tyler and Dad had a great visit to Indiana State for the game against Quincy. Got a chance to talk to Coach Minter for awhile and take in the atmosphere for the game. Loved to see Coach Miles interact positively on the sidelines and former CG standout Tanner Riley caught a TD pass. Was an excellent visit! Go Sycamores!
