All,

Chandler Thomas was was at the ISU vs. North Texas game on Saturday. Chandler plays at Indianapolis Pike. This kid is a very solid Sophomore for one of the best high-school teams in Indiana. He is currently 6'5" but looks like he will get even bigger. If ISU were to land this kid, he would make an impact immediately. He plays with Marquis Teague, brother of Jeff Teague whom plays for Wake Forest.

It would be awesome if we get to see Chandler Thomas in Sycamore Blue!

I think he shots left handed and looks like he could be another Carl Richard type player--I'd take him if he can play like Carl!

If he was a Carl, he wouldn't be coming off the bench. I don't believe he is a starter. We want players that a HS team cannot afford to have out of the game.

He starts and might be Cathedral's leading scorer this year. He is more a D2 player though as he gets most of his points in the paint and at 6'5 and not a great leaper...that doesn't usually work in the Valley.

I don't think he's their leading scorer. I don't know where to check.

Mr. Thomas from the Indy Star

*Star sophomores Basil Smotherman and Collin Hartman struggled for Heritage Christian and Cathedral respectively. Both fought through foul trouble and struggled to get in a rhythm offensively. Hartman had a nice day on the glass, pulling down 6 rebounds for the Irish. Smotherman was able to knock down some jump shots but didn’t have a huge day offensively, scoring just 11 points.

*Illinois Assistant Coach Jay Price was in the building watching Basil Smotherman. The 6’5 sophomore guard holds an offer from the Fighting Illini.

*Joel Smith led Heritage Christian with 17 points and 4 rebounds. The 6’6 junior scored in a multitude of ways, cleaning up the glass, scoring in the paint, and knocking down jumpers of every variety. He gives the Eagles a great presence down low, but is skilled enough to require attention out to the 3-point line.

*6’5 senior Chandler Thomas scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for Cathedral. The athletic forward patrols the paint for the Irish and did a great job of cleaning up the glass. He did a great job of finishing around the rim and taking advantage of second chance opportunities.

Sorry I doubted you. He averages 16. Drew averages 15.5.
Your statement above is exactly right. Scores inside. Looks no better than D2.

Interesting prospect. Plays real hard on both ends, but would need a lot of work developing his shot at the next level. Not sure where he could play in the MVC.

Would a RS year help him develop a SF/WG game vs. his current PF game?
