As I said, all I know for sure is that Amedeo is moving to the US to play college ball, starting in the upcoming season, and when I asked a few people who have some knowledge about the situation, the name of Indiana State popped out as his possible/probable choice - that's all.

I actually came here looking for some kind of confirmation about this, but it seems that if it is indeed true it's been a well-kept secret so far... If that were to be the case, I'd feel rather guilty for spoiling it :D

Oh no no no, we love rumors around here trust me (especially ones like this). I can tell you this much - about 70% of the rumors that have come to this forum in the past, oh I don't know 3 or 4 years have had some sort of validity. So I am sure this has some sort of foundation around it and if you my friend tipped us off to this kid you will forever have a special place in many of our hearts. Surely you will have one in mine - the kid looks like a gem. What's your thoughts on his abilities, would he be a top 100 recruit in the United States?

I did see Mabell's thread and his initial post, and not trying to quibble with you, but was just pointing out that other than an Italian message board, it appears this was the only mention of this recruit and the ISU interest.

Hope we land him!

I've seen the post now - pretty intriguing and I'd love to have him. I just think based on what I've seen in these videos he's a high major player and assuming he's one of the top young players in Europe he would have to be on more radar screens than Indiana State's. Assuming that is the case - what is brining this kid to Terre Haute, Indiana? Big time exposure? MVC? Jake Odum? Lol

He looked like a mid-major to me, but what do I know; and I just watched only one video. Looked like a nice player for us, but we'll have to wait for any kind of confirmation. The original poster said this year and we don't have any openings now so i don't know.

Message boards can be pretty good. I remember when Bouchie was saying he was going to transfer here, I first saw it on a message board.

this IS pretty far out, though.

Hm... I would venture to say that talent-wise Amedeo is on that level, since he's one of the top players in Europe for his age group. In the recent U18 Euro Championships he was the tournament's best scorer until he suffered an injury and was forced to sit for the last few games. Of course it's never easy to predict how well a foreign kid will adapt to living in the US and playing a different style of basketball but the talent is there. Here are his stats for that tournament.

Anyway, if he's to start playing college ball in 2011-12 as I've been told, I guess we'll have to hear about it pretty soon, one way or the other...

Have you seen any mention of a scholarship? I don't believe we have one unless someone decided to hang up their spurs.

Sorry, I don't know anything more than what I already posted. Unfortunately I'm far from an insider, so take all of this with the proverbial grain of salt, at least until anything more substantial comes out...

certainly a good rumor, I sure hope (for our sake) this isn't some crazy "Missouri State to Conference USA" type rumor! :krazy:

Maybe he visited campus with Coach Dave Ragland and gave him a sealed envelope to be opened by only Greg Lansing. The envelope contains an official Letter of Intent to come to Indiana State!
