I could completely understand losing him to Southern Alaska State, because that program is on its way up, but losing him to Northeast Central Idaho Tech would really hurt. We just can't lose guys to them if we want to be competitive.

Never know, he might aspire for a Mining Engineering degree, w/ a minor in Taco Technology.:disturbed:

Watched the replay of the Adidas final, kid looked good. I didn't pay as much attention to him when I was there because we hadn't offered him at the time, but really liked him in this game. Hope his visit went well, would love to have him.

I know there was concern about his shot, but i don't see anything to worry about. You could argue he shoots it a little low off his forehead, but he has good rotation, pretty quick release and can shoot off dribble/screen.

I like the kid and hope his visit was a positive one. He is a player.

I missed this previously:

Coleman said he still plans to visit Georgia Southern and Mercer later this month, and possibly get to Gardner-Webb. Indiana State has shown increased interest since Greensburg’s Bryant McIntosh pulled back on his commitment to the Sycamores in early July.

“They told me they weren’t recruiting me because of Bryant and I understand all that,” he said. “Now they are really interested. They’ve been texting me a lot and keeping on contact.”

Just announced his final four on twitter: Ball State, NC Greensboro, Georgia Southern and Gardner Webb. On to the next recruit.

Damn. Getting harder and harder to stay positive about our upcoming class. Lets hope their are some rabbits deep down in the hat somewhere that we can still pull.

Maybe Lansing is just banking on having a big year and skipping town.Seriously though our class for next season shows zerooo promise at this point

What's disappointing (for lack of a better word) is that the MVC is absolutely and undoubtedly a stronger basketball conference than all of those four choices. I would think a student athlete would want the best competition possible.

Disappointing because I have seen the kid play and I like him, but pissing and moaning won't put a team out on the floor. Time to beat the bushes and see who is out there that wants to be a Sycamore.

Sure makes you wonder what the hell happened, doesn't it? Our recruiting was going pretty well with some great talent on the radar or already committed, then the whole elder Mahurin crap goes down and all of a sudden our commits and recruits are disappearing. If he has gone out and bad mouthed ISU to recruits, he has a lot more issues than I thought he had.

It is sure easy to come up with that conclusion but I am hesitant to say it is true at this point. For one, I don't think the Mahurin's have THAT much pull in the recruiting wars, and I still have confidence in Coach L. but after Greg did a stellar job of recruiting Bryant, and he committed for all the right reasons, we have slid backwards pretty consistently since then. My hope is that is cyclical and we kick ass eventually.

Personally, I am keeping a close eye on all of it, as I am sure you are as well, but unless I hear something ungodly bad about our recruiting, I am willing to place confidence in coach to pull a few miracles out of the hat.....but it is getting T-E-N-S-E~

It seems to be, though, that we are trying to recruit higher level players and going head-to-head with some bigger schools. I don't remember going against big 10 schools this much in the past. We have beaten out some smaller schools on some of our recruits in the past. I'm sure we have an A list and B list and we're hoping some fall through the cracks.

I totally agree. Having said that, there is mounting pressure to sign players and I hope Coach L. is up to the task. I feel he is but as they say....the jury is still out~

Remember, this is the EARLY signing period. There's nothing wrong with signing some next April. I don't think we should panic. Sometimes it pays to be patient. there are always late bloomers and juco.

I'm surprised that NC Greensboro, Georgia Southern and Gardner Webb all rated HIGHER than ISU on the kid's list, which tells me that the boy was more interested in seeing NEW geography than playing in an excellent, tradition-rich, mid-major conference. Funny how lil' quirks outside of basketball play w/ decision making, which is why recruiters need to get inside the kids head EARLY to find out what he's about. Not sure if a "tweeter & twot" here and there will do the trick.
