Those ratings are called the ABET accreditation. Which our programs have. I personally don't like the fact that ME's aren't allowed classes that involve welding and machining. I would want every engineer to know the whole process. Wonder why a lot of things fail and a lot of mechanics hate engineers? Because half the engineers don't know how to repair the things they build lol. (I come from a big family of mechanics).

No hijack...just stating 1st hand factual TRUTHS. The MET has cuts, bruises and fingers the size of a half-dollar, while the ME has a bottle of hand lotion on his desk to prevent chafing. You're simply reaffirming everything my dad echoed while employed @ Alcoa between 1964-77. BTW, the six yr. phase between '64-70 was the most productive in Alcoa HISTORY, primarily due to the explosive growth of the use of the aluminum can in food/drink manufacturing.

How would you handle 30 minutes if given the opportunity to personally sell ISU's program to a recruit like Davis? What major manufacturers seeks employees from ISU? Average salaries? Upward mobility within the profession? Can an ISU graduate take his MET or EET degree to graduate school for an EE or MET degree?

Yes, I feel that a good presentation could grab this recruit. Thanks for the info., Guardshack! Visit more often...

My money is on Texas Tech landing this kid. I am not so sure we will even get the visit in November, he may decide before that.

I'll see your money, and I double it that he doesn't go to Texas Tech. Texas Tech. What an awful choice.

If he is interested in Engineering, someone please get him to visit our School of Technology....or as it's called today...the ISU College of Technology.

Texas Tech.....geesh....he might as well go to Nebraska.
