Wow

Kid is a legit high major prospect that committed to VCU and then decommitted. Had offers originally from IU, Purdue, Temple, Cincy, Xavier, Butler, St. Louis, VCU, Nebraska, DePaul, New Mexico State, UTEP, and Bradley.

After his decommitment his scholarship offers seemed to be more in the mid-major realm with offers from Georgia State, East Carolina, Akron, Miami (ohio), Vermont, Winthrop, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, UT Martin, and Coastal Carolina.

Definitely an intrigue situation here, seems to be more to his story. Definitely an athlete that would produce well at the MVC level.

6'6" athletic wing with a laundry-list of high-major offers....um...HELLS YES.

A player like Easley and a JUCO bruising PF/C, and we're in absolutely great shape for 2018 and beyond.

I'm hoping this kid wants to stay close to home and be apart of what is brewing here in Terre Haute. Maybe we can get a fellow Indy native Sycamore to talk to him coughkhristiansmithcough

I think he knows a couple guys in our current class pretty well. Washington and Neese both know him and if I were betting they've reached out to him.

Maybe he wants to stay close to home so his dad can watch him and play with one of his buddies from AAU? I'm assigning Dee as his lead recruiter.

And they were both playing AAU for a team sponsored by Under Armour and you know well never mind you know...

here is a pretty telling recruiting thread of Easley from the butler message: https://butlerhoops.com/forum/index.php?threads/kevin-easley-2018-forward-vcu.985/

Basically he was a top flight recruit his 8th, 9th, 10th grade years because of his mature frame and skill set, even ranked higher than Romeo Langford at the time. All the big dogs were going after him then it seemed like he kind of plateaued later on in his high school years. Still looks like a STEAL for us if we were to somehow land him! Go get em' coaches!

This is also helpful when looking into where he is at. Life really, really sucks sometimes.

We do need bigs..but arguably we need a guy who can play 3 but also fit right into that small ball 4. We tend to try and go small when other teams go small so why not have a guy who can help us do both? (Example K.Smith)...I know we technically only have 1 scholarship and we have to get a true center with it...but everyone knows 75%+ chance in this day and age someone ain't sticking around after the season..If we do indeed get that second opening i'd like to see it go to someone like an Easley build wise.
