well, the season is over, I guess we could look forward to next season.

We know ISU is going to Toledo next season for sure, and according to Golden it sounds like Oral Roberts is coming to ISU,
"I haven’t confirmed it, but I’ve heard ORU is coming to Hulman Center next season."
http://blogs.tribstar.com/downinthevalley/?p=206

we also know Colorado State is playing at ISU Nov. 20th (friday).

ISU will probably have to make the trip to Arkansas State too since they played at ISU this season.

Does ISU play DePaul again? I thought Depaul was supposed to come to ISU during the 2010-2011 season maybe?

Is ISU going to play any Big 10 teams next season? How about renewing with Ball State or Butler?? Does IUPUI come to ISU since we played them at Conseco this past season? I'd suspect ISU will have a D-II or D-III team on the schedule too. How about Valparaiso? That'd be a nice game for ISU, and close by too.

I hope we have a Big 10 team on the schedule since alot of them are close by, even if it's another 2 for 1 contract.

Not sure if ISU can play in another tournament this next season either since they played at Louisville this past season.

Anyway, if anyone knows anything post away.

butler dropped isu....

from what i understood. i would like to see the sycamores play valpo, ball state, butler, iu-ft. wayne, iupui in the preseason along with eastern illinois during the non-conference portion of their schedule. they're all good rivalry games and will ring people with them.

plus i had heard that isu would like to play at least one game each season or maybe once every two years at conseco in order to help in recruiting the indy area.

Butler, Ball State, and Eastern Illinois dropped us. Bultler fears losing to a "lesser" opponent. Ball State doesn't want an in-state school at an equal level to beat them and compete for recruits. Eastern Illinois doesn't see value in playing us. It's unfortunate because I enjoyed the rivalries we had with these school, especially Butler. We have had some success against Butler and they cannot "afford" to lose to us. We are a "bad Loss" on their tournament resume.

I think it is the state of Iowa that requires the state schools to play each other. Iowa, Iowa St, and Norther Iowa. I believe this is accurate. It's like a law or something.......

as difficult as non-conference scheduling is these days you would THINK that Butler, Ball State, Valpo, heck, even IU and Purdue, would have no trouble scheduling ISU. ISU is going to only get better and even if these schools lose to ISU it won't be a bad loss. Sure, ISU wasn't that great this season, and a loss to ISU would have been bad, but when the Sycamores start winning on a regular basis and get to those 20 win seasons I'd hope some of these series will be renewed.

It just makes too much sense, maybe that is the problem??

you would think.....

that with the cost of traveling now and the economy being what it is, it would be more cost effective for butler, valpo, ball state, iupui, indiana, purdue and eastern illinois to play home and home rivalries with an indiana state.

its cheaper, gas wise and hotel wise, to bus to and from terre haute than to fly to davidson or wherever else butler goes to play a non-conference opponent.

maybe the athletic officials from the above mentioned schools will do their "due dilligence" and decide to save money by playing schools a little closer to home.

if there are any state representatives or state senators reading this thread, especially any who are isu alums, you should bring up a resolution of some kind in an effort to try and nudge those schools to play indiana state in order to save money in their athetic budgets.

I was going to mention that too, with the economy the way it is, it makes too much sense to play schools close by, who are rivalry schools anyway. We'll see what the next schedule brings?

So far we might have:

Home
Oral Roberts
IUPUI
Colorado State

Away
Toledo
Arkansas State

If my memory serves me corrrectly I think you're right about the Depaul deal...we play there skip a year and then they go to HC. Creighton had a similar deal w/ them a couple years ago. Look for another tourney possibility I think but I'm not certain...I do have a former college teammate that runs some college tourneys around the states (Vegas, Chicago, others.) I just don't know if ISU has committed to any of these yet...

I added Toledo to this schedule, had forgotten ISU goes there next season, looks like ISU needs 5 more games
