I know that Calipari hasn't been "Calipari" the last 5 years or so. But's it's insane that Kentucky is losing coaches because there is better NIL funding elsewhere. NCAA needs to put a cap on this stuff

Oats of the $18M buyout (per ESPN)??

Cal apparently had a $33m buyout and the Kraft family was willing to cut the check but the AD wouldn't do it. So I think getting their guy they'd be even more apt to spend whatever, especially since they have a big of egg on their face.

You know how billionaires publicly throwing their money around so egos will kick in.

Calipari lost his secret weapon of being dirty to the NIL. Totally leveled the playing field. Plus the one and done theory rarely played out like it does on paper. His natty at UK had some key upper class men.

Yep, now he'll just be able to overpay for veterans. Instead of buying McDonald's All-Americans, he'll be buying NCAA All-Americans.

Supposedly since Calipari left of his own accord, the buyout is null and void.

Not sure if that's TRUE but it was mentioned in this a.m. ESPN article on RICO Calipari leaving

The only way that makes since is if the buyout contract says he can't coach for another college team (or specifically an SEC team) within a certain time frame. Otherwise, wait for them to fire you, pocket $33 million, and then to to Arkansas

- Indiana State is snubbed by the NCAA committee
- Indiana State defeats SMU with a second half comeback in the first round of NIT
- SMU fires head coach Rob Lanier after a 20 win season after loss
- SMU hires USC's Andy Enfield
- USC hires Arkansas's Eric Musselman
- Arkansas hires Kentucky's John Calipari

Just absolutely wild. Doesn't even get into how the NCAA snub impacted what Schertz would have done going forward and what would of happened to his stock if we would have gone on a run like many predicted.

Not even close to the same thing. Hurley is the highest paid state employee in Connecticut.

The only reason to make a change is if he thinks being in the SEC is better long-term over UConns tenuous membership in the Big East.

Yep, that is literally the only cause of concern.

Will the Big East get fucked by the P2 when it comes to them redesigning the system how they want? If so, you have to listen.

UCONN getting the Indiana State treatment. In the middle of playing in a historic season they have to deal with this shit. College basketball - Have fun, but not too much fun

of COUR$E the Big Ea$t will get $crewed by the P2 when it come$ down to it.

Hurley isn't de$erving of that $$ or that title but it won't $top him from accepting it NOR from UK from offering it.
