I'm more upset that it's over, than the game tonight......the amount of joy this team has brought is unmeasuarable! I'm coming to the realization that this will be the best Sycamore team of my lifetime!
Who knows. Just three years ago many insisted we could never do better than Lansing.

Man, we could've been champions and gone out winners in front of 9000 or so ISU fans and couldn't finish the thing off. This whole thing just sucks and I really doubt we'll ever get this kind of opportunity again. This fan base really deserved to win this one after all the s*** we've been through. I would have rather lost by 30 than to lose like that. People were all hugging each other where I was at and everyone thought we had finally made it over the top of the mountain just to have the rug pulled out from under them again.

I'm also watching that final replay and dude doesn't just fall down like that if there wasn't contact. Definitely a foul. Then the second one, pictured below definitely looks like a foul to me right in front of Stevie Wonder looking right at it. I was watching the attempted tip by Kent and it would have been after the buzzer if it had gone in.

Gutting ending. A lot of what ifs over those last 3 minutes. It’ll sting for a while.

That being said…

One of the best games I’ve ever attended. Amazing atmosphere at Hinkle. Hell of a season…this was a special group. Managed to get to games in person at Hinkle, Hulman Center, Gainbridge, Arch Madness, and Breslin Center. Pretty cool year. Let’s hope more exciting times are to come. Wish it ended on a higher note…but a damn good season. Feeling gutted when the season comes to an end is a heck of a lot better than feeling nothing.

I hear a lot of talk about Schertz turning State into the Gonzaga of the Midwest. But people tend to forget, their ascension began with Dan Monson who gave them their two best seasons in their history. Monson dipped after two seasons and was replaced by an assistant that got passed up prior, Mark Few.
In this line of work, there are no promises. But you have to believe that the buzz created by the Zag fan base played a huge role in the overall long term success of the program

Could not be more proud and grateful for this entire team. Thanks to everyone for their contributions to a special, unforgettable year.

Well, I was mad. Not at the team, but at the refs. Yes I'm one of those guys. I was sure that we should have been at the line with a chance to tie or win. I'll have to see a replay to know for sure. I went home, griped about it on the phone, went to bed about 10:45. I got to sleep around midnight and woke up about 4. I'm tired.

I could probably accept what happened last night a little easier if it wasn't for the fact that the coach is likely going to leave and our roster is going to be completely decimated. Just a couple of years ago, even if the coach left we likely would have returned all of our starters and could've run it back next year. I'll be honest, I don't know a whole lot about Coach Graves, but I think he has to be the hire at this point and then you try hard to recruit Larry, Kent, and Swope to return for their senior years and complete some unfinished business.

I know. I’m just somber waiting for the gauntlet to drop. Here we go again rebuilding.

I told myself after the Cincinnati game that I was going to be content with what ever happens going forward and I was at peace with it. The amount of joy this team brought us fans this year was monumental to the Sycamore program. The loss stings for sure especially after being up 3 possessions at the end of the game. However, the amount of publicity, community support and memories we gained is priceless!
