what with the news that packers is out at cbs, i wonder how many people remember the "ode to billy packer" song that isu students came up with during the 1978-79 season. packer had badmouthed isu and its schedule despite being undefeated. al mcguire, meanwhile, had spoke up in support of the sycamores. so when mcguire came to do an isu home game in the final of the mvc tournament against wichita state, some enterprising students came up the song poking fun of packer. it was great!!!!! they sung it all through the game.
