I am definitely against naming the court after Larry Bird. He can't even be bothered to show up to a game or support the university unless we're honoring him in some way. His statue outside and the street name are enough.

While I tend to agree with you, I believe there are two sides to this story. From what I’ve heard, earlier administrations kind of had a role in Larry’s being disgruntled and not coming around.

There has been a lot about Wooden that has been seeping out over the last couple years, especially relating to how he was recruiting players. A lot of it is centered around UCLA giving Kareem everything he wanted to come to LA.

Name a program with the success that UCLA had that DIDN'T recruit the same way... They're all dirty

Not that it is likely to happen, but suppose for a moment that we did take Wooden's name off the court. I think most fans would be in favor of naming it after Duane Klueh as much as anyone else associated with ISU.

Not only was he was a great player here who's jersey is retired, but he was also a pretty good coach here as well. All these years later he still supports our athletes by showing up to the games. I can't think of anyone more deserving honestly.

Shouldn't be too hard to dig up something in the family of any public figure. We need to find fault with someone related to the Hulman clan, withdraw the Hulman Center name and sell/give the naming rights to Larry Legend. And naturally it would be known as the Bird House!

Then you pull the name and resell the rights. Win-win.

possible, guess it's all dependent on a school offering a lease w/ a "Moral Turpitude" clause contained within it and then finding a "suitable" lease who's willing to pay for the privilege of signing said lease...

workable but obviously things that are rarely considered
