this dreadful baseball season finally comes to an end this weekend as ISU hosts Illinois State. Both teams are tied for next to last in the MVC and can not qualify for the MVC post season. Look for lots of runs to be scored in this series I'd guess.

Game 1 is Thursday night.

here's hoping Megg's gets rid of the pitching coach and gets some pitchers to ISU that won't allow a gazillion runs every game next season. I've never seen such a season as this one for ISU.

Who wudda thunk it? Sycamores win the first two of a 3-game series with a couple of well-pitched games. 4-0, 3 hit complete game shutout in the first game (14 strikeouts, only 2 walks & 1 HBP) & then an 11-1 "run-rule" win in the second game, giving up only 7 hits (6 strikeouts, 4 walks & 1 HBP). Where have these guys been all season? A possible sweep to go out with a bang?

Breakout the brooms....................BLUE ISU ends the season with a 3-game series sweep of the red isu 12-8 (Shoemaker grand slam bottom of 9th; believe he had 3 HR's today?)

it's fantastic to see ISU end on a 4 game win streak, too little too late for the season unfortunately though. Like Meggs said in the paper, they have to get the pitching issues worked out for the 2009 season. I wonder if that means a new pitching coach, I would hope he would not tolerate another season with a team ERA over 7.

Good to end with a sweep of ISU red, been a while (3 yrs.) since ISU swept an MVC series! good work!
