ISU rode good free throw shooting and a stifling zone defense to a win over a 4-6 Purdue Fort Wayne Mastadon team at the Hulman center to even its record at 4-4.

The Mastodons remained winless on the road but led the majority of the game.

ISU went 29 for 37 at the line to hold the lead down the stretch.

ISU switched to a 2-3 zone with strong match up principles late in the first half and got back into the game outscoring PFW 12-2 to take a late second period lead which held up for a 28-23 halftime advantage.

ISU opened in a man to man in the second half and PFW took advantage with a series of driving layups to seize the lead.
After ISU went back to the zone, it contained the PFW offense far more effectively.

Neither team shot well as PFW was 4/31 from three point range while ISU limited its attempts and went 1/6.
Chelsea Cain capitalized on the ISU focus on going to the rim leding the Sycamores with 17 point and 9 boards. She was 5/6 at the FT line.
Freshman Bella Finnegan came of the bench to score 13, mostly due to a 9/10 performance at the line.
Adrian Folks and Del'Janae Williams put up 9 each with Folks 4/7 from the field and Williams 5/6 at the line.

Each team had 3 players foul out in the contest which saw 66 free throws taken
