TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State women’s basketball team’s entire 2007-08 schedule has been finalized almost a month after the non-conference schedule was announced.

ISU will have two regular-season Missouri Valley Conference games nationally televised with the opportunity for a third.

When interstate rival Illinois State visits Hulman Center on Feb. 15, the game will be shown on Fox Sports Midwest. And for the first time in the program’s history, one of ESPN’s networks will televise the Sycamores. The March 2 game at Omaha, Neb., against Creighton will be on ESPNU.

Also, the Feb. 29 game at Knapp Center against 2006 Missouri Valley Conference tournament champion Drake will be under consideration for a telecast as part of the MVC’s wildcard weekend.

“We have the opportunity to showcase our program on national television at least twice this season,” Wiedie said in a university release. “I expect our team to play well in each and every game and keep our tradition strong.”

ISU opens the MVC slate at Carbondale, Ill., against 2006 regular-season champion Southern Illinois, where long-time Indiana State assistant coach Megan Lanham is now associate head coach. Senior Day for Laura Rudolphi, Angela Phillips and Anne Thatcher will also be against the Salukis, with ISU’s final regular-season game scheduled for March 8.

The State Farm MVC Tournament will be on March 13-16 in St. Charles, Mo., and FSM will televise the semifinals and championship game. This will mark the first year for the women’s basketball tournament to be played on a neutral court.

ISU will host the third annual Big Blue Block Party on Oct. 12 in the Clabber Girl parking lot. The free event with food and games will begin at 5 p.m. and culminates with a blue-white scrimmage at 7 p.m. in Hulman Center.
