Yeah really. I think he’s been much better the last 2-3 games though
Absolutely! He has finished much better at the rim on layups the last few games. JD is getting better at realizing what his limits are and putting himself in position to do what he does well.

Key to the game wa Wardle switching to a zone at the end. We needed to make 1 more shot and the bad pass wouldn’t have mattered

Second key to the game - Hulman Center got loud with us on O and under 1:30 left in the game and Wardle wanted his guys to foul. His players didn’t see or hear him - the shot clock dwindled and he threw his hands up in frustration letting it play out. In all reality - not fouling in that situation really worked out for them as we had an empty pos. - all of our pos were empty the last 2mins of the game.

Graves said post game he was kicking himself for not calling a timeout in that end game situation. Learning experience for him and the players I suppose.

Disappointed in the crowd. Not really loud. I get it last season was magical but that’s over. They need to embrace this team.
Proud of the crowd. They came to life and definitely helped pushed the team. It’s easy to forget how young this team is in the heat of the moment. I won’t rehash what everyone Has already. Even though disappointed that was a fun game to be at.

We all know this team doesn’t have the sky is the limit potential like last year, but I was starting to get the feeling that if we pulled that out, we would be in really good position to be top 4. Then, with just a single home loss, it feels like our back are against a wall.

Obviously the loss hurts, but like others have said, there is a lot to be encouraged about. We know this team is going to compete and fight. They are learning to play together and keep getting better. Hope we can take care of business on the road and lead up to another big home match up.

I will have to watch it to see his comments exactly - again I’d be kicking myself for not calling one the previous pos when we turned it over.

We were on our heels. He’s got a young team. They had just made free throws. It’s a one possession game - shot clock is off - they have to trap then foul. Like he should have settled them down and ran something to get the ball in the hands of Teel in that spot out of the TO.

Using the TO under 5 seconds - meh. The only reason he’s saying that now is he doesn’t like the shot LeGree took step back 3 down one - it’s not a good look in that situation. I don’t mind him letting that play out.

Graves explanation for not taking a TO with 4 seconds left was that they would come out of the TO in a zone and he liked our chances better with a quick possession with them spread out

Went back and rewatched OT. Doughty committed a bone headed foul with 1:17 left on the clock. Daughtry didn’t push Atlason in the back but he did have his hands on his back (Be smart and don’t do that). And then Bruno if he would have passed it to Camp who’s basically in front of him instead then there’s no turnover there. On the Deen basket to win it Doughty was guarding him and instead of turn his body to contest he just falls back looking at the ref.

Great game to watch by both Sycamore & Bradley fans. Bradley was just one play better.............. forget it now and on to the next one!

for the players, maybe

for Graves?! YGBSM -- he played 4 years Div I, he's been COACHING at the Div I level for 25 years.

This is his 6th year as a Div I coach, call it a Senior (citizen) moment for Graves but I wouldn't ever call it a 'learning experience' for him :rolleyes:

Alright boys I had a day to sleep on it.

The game: That was a hell of a game. A million lead changes a million ties, no team was ever ahead by more than 8 points. It started out sloppy but Bradley hit 10 3s the second half, that usually spells doom for anyone and we hung in there and took it to OT. There was multiple times that it felt like the other team was going to win and then a huge momentum swing happened. That was a high level entertaining game and in all honesty I didn't think we'd be playing in any of those this years vs. the top of the conference. Every person that came into Hulman got way more entertainment than they paid for and it caught a lot of attention on the ole internet. Really a fun game to be a part of, I was physically sweating the last 2 minutes in OT and I was sitting in a la-z-boy.

You can say what you want about the collapse. It was a collapse. Very similar to the NIT championship, just stunned that we lost. My wife asked if I was okay. But you can't question heart, and you can't say we don't have back-bone. Because in all honesty we showed a lot of moxy just getting it to OT to begin with. It looked like BU was going to come away with a win in regulation and we fought back and tied it up. 2 dumb fouls on wrong end of the court gave them 4 points with 0 seconds running off the clock. A bad decision and pass led to the game winner. That is 6 points that we just gave them with very little effort. We have a ton of inexperience, Bradley has a ton of experience and they have a player that you can roll the ball too and get a bucket when you need it.

Hulman Center: Hulman Center has turned into the best arena in the MVC both in terms of the facility itself and in atmosphere. People are taking notice. Kudos to the people of Terre Haute you guys brought it, I'm jealous of the fact that you guys can attend any game. It's turning into something.

Our fanbase: If you are on X or Facebook or seen some comments here on SP you'll notice there are some real bone-headed comments after the game. They are dumb and just out of touch with reality on expectations. They can piss you off for sure. But the one thing I noticed about them is this program is FINALLY getting emotional responses from people. We all know there have been DECADES of nobody saying shit about ISU; win or lose. The fact that there are hundreds of individuals across many platforms getting emotional about the Sycamores is a beautiful thing. Think about the most passionate fanbases in sports? their fanbase is emotional with huge swings of high and low. The Indiana State fanbase is 100x what is was 3 years ago, it's awesome to be a part of it and watch it grow.

All in all I would KILL to be 3-0 in the league right now with a win over Bradley. I'd be thinking "shit, can we win this damn thing?". But I think we proved we can make noise in this league and we are going to be right there in St. Louis which is all you can ask for. We are just going to have to take the good with the bad as we appear to be that unique position of we can beat anybody and we can also lose to anybody. On to evansville, gotta get back in the win column and no better way than taking it to the purps

Harding has been dreadful the last two games... Nearly 40 minutes 0-4 FG, 0-3 3P, 4 rbs, 4 assists, 1 blk, 3 turnovers and 1 point. That is unacceptable - I'd like to see Vorst get some run if that is the level of production we are going to get from him at the 5. I realize JD has been the bench go small answer for us and that's fine - but JD is typically in some sort of foul situation and he's really not a 30+ min guy anyway. Need Vorst or Harding to step up.

Agree. JD has been really good off the bench. TOTALLY different player than Bledson but I think JD thrives off the bench like Bledson did. He provides scoring when some starters are on the bench and has a high motor around the rim that he takes advantage of when some opponents are fatigued.

Don't really know what's going on with Vorst. He looked more smooth than Harding at the beginning of the year then the injury came and now can hardly find the court. Is he still banged up a little or is just too far behind after missing a ton?
