It sounds like we are being more competitive in terms of effort. That is good to hear regardless of the outcome.

60-54 Lamar, 8-minute TV timeout. We're shooting really, really well, but the play-by-play indicates that offensive rebounds are killing us AGAIN! If we would get position and block out, we'd be winning...:(

finally

thank GOD that is over, I got home from a Christmas party and logged on to Golden's blog expecting another ISU loss, and as I read thru it he kept saying ISU was playing well, then would revert to careless play and let Lamar back in it, then ISU gets down in the 2nd half, but actually came back and won! Hallelujah, it's about friggin' time they got a win.

Now, what can they back that up with tomorrow vs. Ohio, who as you all know, got the crap beat out of them by Louisville today.

anyway, good game description from TG

and with that simple win ISU's RPI (not that it matters anyway) jumps all the way to 218, going up nearly 100 spots and puts them well ahead of the stupid Salukis.

I hope to God the team actually ENJOYS what it feels like to win for a change and will come out and respond with (yikes) a 2nd win in a row Monday afternoon.

Nice to get rid of the zero. Hope this is all it takes to get ISU on track. We've had some close losses, so hopefully the team is closer to .500 than our current record shows. A win tomorrow would be a really great way to keep the momentum going.

here is the box score, ISU is slow to add the box score, or even any notice that ISU won, to it's site.

the walk-ons are getting pretty good minutes (for walk ons) and are contributing. That is good to see. 4 more days until Harry returns, is this right??

We are still getting killed by offensive rebounds though. That stat really glares out.

Officials: Ed Hightower, John Gaffney, James Breeding
Technical fouls: Indiana State-None. Lamar-None.
Attendance: 19083 Yeah, right! ha! (maybe like 83?)
Score by Periods 1st 2nd Total
Indiana State................. 40 28 - 68
Lamar......................... 40 26 - 66
