Finally think we are going to get a good idea what we have in the next week or two

We definitely know we're a work in progress. SIUE is an older squad so this is going to be an interesting test. They are also loaded with a lot of tough Midwest kids.

So many tough, Midwest kids that those Cougars look like Ol' Scratch hisself...

SIUE is shooting 23.6% from three. They’ve played three games with two being vs Indiana and Illinois, fwiw.

This should be a decent benchmark game. SIU-E trailed #17 Indiana by 12 at the half and lost by 19.

I remember several of these kids from AAU. They weren't shooters then and most with dribble drive kind of guys. The Ray'sean kid (I think that is how it's spelled) was pretty athletic and liked to attack the rim.

Not surprised that Haslametrics has us winning since we are at home, but am surprised by the amount.

I've got to think it's skewed because of their schedule but several of their metrics are really, really bad even with having faced quality opponents.

Those metrics must be heavily factoring in our home court advantage from last year. With the roster turnover I think this is still a winable game but I think us being favored by 10 is a bit high.

This team has size that I think will bother us, however, their center isn't really much of an offensive threat. I think securing defensive rebounds will be very important for us in this game.

I hope none of these stat people base anything this year on what happened last year. Apples and dump trucks.

I'm probably over-confident, but I'm feeling good about this game. Yes, they are picked to finish third in the OVC, but it's still the OVC.

I know it’s early in the season but SIU-E is 330th in the country in fg% and 358th in free throw %.

Got to keep them off the glass and limit their possessions to one shot only.
