This is the biggest turnoff for me for college sports right now - the posts about the transfer portal the minute the season ends. I'd almost rather just guys post nothing and quietly take their asses out the door. I don't need a post about how they prayed for God's guidance, that just rubs me the wrong way. Honestly, I'd respect it more if someone posted "thanks for the opportunity, but I'm going to see how much I can get paid somewhere else.".

But i really do think they need to revisit how players announce they go into the transfer portal. I'd imagine it's a turnoff for 95% of fans and fans are what keeps the lights on.

It really is. I’m surprised how many have entered the portal. Not sure where they think they will end up with time on the field instead of the bench. Lots of defensive players as well.

I'm not even referring this as an Indiana State or Indiana State football problem. I think it's bad for the entire NCAA in every sport. I'd much rather they just add their name to a list or some shit. Putting it out on social media that you are leaving your school leaves a horrible taste

It's all self-promotion, building their "brand"...

you know, the brand that is build on self and loyalty to none and quitting on teammates and coaches b/c a "higher power" gave you guidance...

embrace this new, "better" collegiate athletic experience... isn't THIS what "everyone" wanted? for the KIDS to be in charge?

I think we all may be in agreement here for the first time ever. I really don't like all the kids putting God in the middle of this. It might be possible that He wants a certain player to be in a different location for some purpose but not everyone. God is loyal and all this transfer stuff is not.

South Vermillion walked through the WRC this year, with an undefeated regular season. I went to SV's home game against North Posey in the Sectionals. Garzolini led his team down the field (trailing) and threw a game winning TD with no time left on the clock to get them to the next round. I thought he looked pretty good. Definitely worth taking a chance on.

I also appreciate all of the updates you're sharing. I don't do Twitter or really any social media anymore outside of Facebook once in a while.
