The Sycamore Level
Softball hosts a 3 team fall exhibition tourney this Saturday at Price Field. Not sure why the NCAA allows softball to play outside competition in the fall but doesn't allow baseball to do the same? Anyway, I know softball uses these fall home tourneys as fund-raisers to help with some of their travel and equipment costs during the acutal season in the spring - so they typically charge an admission. This Saturday, the Sycamores take on Ball State at 12pm and Parkland College at 4pm. At 2pm, Ball State and Parkland will square off. Looks like they are also welcoming back Alumni on Saturday and having a picnic after the contests.
Press Release from ISU:

Last weekend, the Sycamores split with Evansville down at Cooper Stadium. Next weekend, ISU hosts a larger tournament on Saturday and Sunday with IU, Butler, DePauw, St. Mary of the Woods, U of Indianapolis, St. Joseph's, Lake Land College, Olney Central College, and Wabash Valley College all in attendence.

The Sycamore Level
Softball sweeps contests at Price Field Saturday, knocking off Ball State 3-1 before taking out Parkland College 8-0. Good turnout on the day also with the small spectator section mostly filled and lots of people standing around also. Nice to see Darcy Wood pitch again, as she went 4 innings of relief against Ball State, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 5. Sycamores outhit the Cardinals 8-4 by my count. Second game saw an entirely new line-up for the Sycamores and they pounded out 13 hits against Pakland while only allowing 1 hit for the Cobras. Parkland lost to the Illini during the week 5-0 and were beaten by Ball State 5-0 before playing us. Sr. Mere Simpson seemed to be picking up where she left off last spring, as she went for a double and hit a 2 run HR against Ball State.
Sycamores host their large fall tournament this next weekend - with ISU splitting into two squads on Saturday before coming back together on Sunday. ISU's schedule is:
9:30am - ISU White vs U of Indianapolis
11:15am - ISU Blue vs St. Joseph's
2:45pm - ISU White vs Lake Land College
4:30pm - ISU Blue vs Olney Central College
12:00pm - Indiana State vs Indiana
2:00pm - Indiana State vs Butler
