After a couple of pretty good years with Edmonton Shakir had a tryout with the Patriots .... he was signedrecently by the Ottawa REDBLACKS, http://www.ottawasun.com/2017/05/11/redblacks-sign-running-back-shakir-bell

The 25-year-old is averaging 5.8 yards per carry throughout his career but has never truly gotten the keys to a CFL backfield.
