Can anyone who was at the game fill us in on the new uniforms that the Sycamores were supposed to be sporting tonight? How did they look?

Fairly typical white homies with blue trim and lettering, but the thing I really liked was the "I" in Indiana was the state of Indiana, just like the old unis from so long ago. Nice touch, I thought...

Oh yeah, and they misspelled Carl's last name. Hope they get that fixed before next home game!!!

I am soo glad someone caught that, the uniforms looked real nice!!! Tough drive home, a lot of fog... but we made it!!!

I didn't see the back of the shorts tonight, but all previous uniforms had VALLEY on the ass of their shorts. I think it looks a little silly, ridiculous, and unnecessary personally. But I didn't see the back of their shorts tonight, so it may not still be there if they have "new" uni's.

Dude I still consider myself a young man, but since when did shorts go down to basketball players ankles? That would drive me nuts! So my only complaint is the shorts are way to long... But I guess that is the "style" these days, looks stupid to me and can't be comfortable.

Man, hadn't you seem the way these young pups wear their pants the past 10 years?? With the top part showning their butts sticking out or about 3 sizes too big......??? Makes you want to come up behind them and pull them up! Give'm a nuclear
wedgie..... lol

Combined with the compression socks a few of the guys were wearing, this made for an....umm.....interesting look. I thought the new unis looked good, but I too noticed the slightly "longer-than-normal" shorts.

I actually thought the length of these things, formerly known as Gym Shorts, were trending upwards recently...but ours look like prison status quo.

Have you ever noticed how pre-occupied some of the players are with these girly shorts? They're always fiddlin', pullin' down, tuggin' here and there? How can you can concentrate on the game wearing those dumbass things?

And SSOM....you were so kind to just say "looks stupid". These dumber-than-dumb look shorts aren't shorts at all....they're Capri pants for little boys.

Hey, we've haven't talked since I sat in front of you at the ND game. No, I'm not the big as Sasquatch guy that sat in front of you...that's KAPat1865....I was the the other ISU alum.

BTW these young pups haven't been wearing these 'where's the flood pants' for 10 years....these kids have been going for this look for almost 20 years.

The young generation is so use to this nincompoop look, that they think it's normal to walk around looking like you're not smart enough to pour water of a boot, if the instructions were on the heel.

I honestly believe that how the uniforms look and fit is a big deal to the players. Call it dumb, but it may factor into recruiting in some small way. Players want to wear the latest uniform trends and apparel. I like that ISU is being a little more progressive lately with the jerseys...both with football and basketball.

Now, if you want to see some ridiculous shorts, look at the University of Texas. They wear really tight tops with super-baggy shorts.

For me, I don't really see anything wrong with the long shorts. If it's what the players want and are comfortable playing in, then that's all that should matter.

Maybe so but wouldn't the Ore Ducks have the #1 recruiting class annually?

There's something to be said for tradition and being consistent.

Does anyone have a pic of the new WHITE unis?

I said that it factors into recruiting in "some small way." I didn't say it was the most important #1 recruiting tool.

And...yes...I think it's helped Oregon in football very much. The players get to design their own uniforms every year with Nike in their backyard. If I were a player, I think I'd find that to be very cool. I don't know if Oregon allows the basketball team to design their uniforms too, but I would bet that if they do that Dana Altman is bringing it up on recruiting visits.

I agree that there is something to be said for tradition and being consistent; however, change doesn't always have to be a bad thing.

Good Times...

Bring back the old Astros uniforms! Those things were the best! Now that's tradition!

Sadly, it's a bigger recruiting issue than many want to admit; shoes over uniforms; look at the UCF case and Jordan's kid.

How many slimeball AAU coaches push kids to specific NCAA schools because of the shoe/uniform/gear tie-in? Far too many.

Oh for the days of White or Black Chuck Taylors!
