The athletes and coaches practiced one last time in Terre Haute at 9:00am on Monday morning and departed Fayetteville, AR. We arrived around 7pm, checked into the hotel and ate dinner. The hotel is very nice! It is a Homewood Suites and has only been open for two weeks!!!!! Coach Gartland, Brad Yeargin (Athletic Trainner), and Major arrived appox. midnight.
The coaches will pick up the packets today. The athletes are scheduled to practice today at 2:00pm at the track. Lauren and Erica will have a normal practice while Kylie and Major will go through their pre-meet routine.

Be sure to show Major this post ok... I know he does not have an account on here, so be sure to bring him into your room and let him read this...
Dear Major,
When you are ready to get that ass beat in basketball when you get back from Nationals let me know. (You know where to find me)... Here I am calling you out in public now! Me vs. you. Major Clay don't let a lame white dude talk mess and beat you in 1 on 1. That would be soooo horrible! I can even get the news to come broadcast this beat down if you would like...?
Major - I can't hardly wait to play you in basketball. So go win nationals and I can say I beat a national champion in one on one!
Well all the athletes looked great today during their practices. Major three stepped 6'08, Erica looked FAST on the long jump runway and good in the Jav. Kylie took care of business and Lauren is more focused than I have ever seen. Let’s hope they all can perform well when it counts.
It was very HOT and Humid at the track. The only thing is that the chance for shattered t-storms increase now.
Major just needs to be one of the 16 remaining athletes at a bar change in the qualifying round to advance to the finals. He will open up at 6'08.75" on Wednesday.
Kylie too needs to be on of the 16 remaining athletes at a bar change to advance to the finals. She will open up a 13'01"
Bad weather is moving in. It will be very interesting to see what the NCAA does with the schedule tonight. Kylie and I will be leaving for the track at 4:45pm. She has to check in 2 hours out. Major and Coach Gartland are leaving at 6:15. I will give you all an update later tonight.
What a bad night! The meet was delayed for 3 1/2 hours. Major and Kylie had to sit in the basketball arena for 2 1/2 hours while the weather cleared. At 10:15 (11:15 Indiana time) the Women's pole vault and Men's High Jump started.
During Majors very first approach during the warm-up is slipped and fell due to the wet track surface. From that point on he was not the Major that jumped all year. He missed all three attempts at the opening bar (6'08.75"). He is very disappointed. It was a tough night for ALL high jumpers.
Kylie started her warm-up at 6:15pm and then came the weather delay. All the women pole vaulters had to re-warm-up at 9:15pm. She looked good during both warm-ups and was feeling good and ready to jump. With the delay she came in at 3.90m not 4.00m like we wanted to. She cleared 3.90m on her first. Then she hit a speed bumb, well lots of speed bumbs! The wind changed to a head wind and she had trouble adjusting. It took all three attampts to clear 4.00m. She then cleared 4.10m on her second and will move on to Fridays final.

6' feet???? That would be a school record. Her best is 5-5.25! I know coach A. Martin and coach Gartland would be happy if she just jumped her PR or right around it!
Weather is hot. Much like it was yesterday. Rain will move in later today.
Erica had a sub par day in the Shot Put but won her heat of the 200m into a headwind. She finished the first day in 22nd place. Has a chance to make a BIG move on day 2 if she has a big LJ and 800!
