Folks, if you're reading this then you're already a bonafide fan and you don't really need to be told this, but...

We have a winning program!

It was not that long ago and for many many seasons in a row when our record would be 11-17 and not 17-11.

Four Winning Seasons in a Row - with an NCAA Tourney appearance to boot - does not lie...we have a winning program.

Thank you to our coaches and players for making this happen...and to President Bradley and AD Prettyman!

Keep up the great work...it's great to be a Sycamore!

(Seriously, since 1981...think of the number of losing seasons we've had....man it's nice to be on the other side of things)

My expectations for this team have been up and down this season, but all along I've said I'd just be happy to keep winning and we have. It would be nice to take that next step, but we do have an improving team year by year.

ISU will always be the School where Larry Bird went. Not saying its a bad thing actually quite the opposite . But the talk about Indiana is no longer JUST Larry Birds school . I think the [ress that is coming our way is helping improve the image of Indiana State as a basketball school. I always look at the season success as not just a winning season anymore . I now judge success as 20 wins or more thats called raising the bar once we are sonsistantly winning 20 the bar needs to be raised some more as they do at Butler and Gonzaga and that is confrence championships and NCAA berths.

Quite right. With the addition of a few new faces, I expect a giant step for next year.

Our 4th winning season in a row, is a high water mark in the modern era of ISU basketball, that's for sure.

As for next year, I'm looking for a positive step forward. :strut: If that turns out to be giant step, then YAHOO!!! :celebration:

As I've stated previously, the tip-off for next season is just around 8 months from now. If a giant step is expected, how does a team that returns everyone stop having games with 15 - 20 turnovers, 56% FT shooting, and meager Offensive Rebounding? If we're doing that now, how does this team take those giant steps to change those stats in such a short time frame?

Before this season started, a top four finish in the regular season, multiple games on national television and an NIT birth would have been Heaven sent. All of those things are still very realistic, probably more realistic than an at large.

An NIT birth would be a great stepping stone into next year.

Work all summer and then next year we will have about 10 more years of D1 experience. There's no better teacher than experience, and everything else being equal, the natural course is that sr are better than jr are better than so, etc.

All teams will have individual games with 15+ TO's and 39% shooting. The goal is change the season averages. There is really not a lot of difference between winning and losing in most games. If we can reduce TO's by 2, increase FG% by 2%, play better defense, make for FT's, get 2-3 more rebounds, etc, the difference will show in the win column.
We have some players that I expect to add 2-4 ppg to their average. They all can't, but the result will be more balance and better team consistency from game to game when you have more offensive weapons.

Wow...realistic comments! Congratulations on another good year of basketball. A NIT bid would be perfect. Lets get at least 1 more W.

Perfect?? Acceptable, maybe. Certainly not perfect.

There are a lot of adjectives that one could use.

what we really want is to be competitive every year and continue to bring in players that will sustain and improve the PROGRAM.

Of course, as fans wanting more and more, we will never be satisfied. That is the way it should be.
