Simple - shut this program down & place all the wasted $$$ in men's basketball & baseball. Not just from result of this game but historically losing for whatever period you look at 5 yrs, 10 yrs etc. etc. etc; not competitive in the MVFC & never have been.

Nah, ISU should just drop their sports down to Division 2 since that's what Blue thunder and a majority of Terre Haute seems to think we are.

This has been my position & I am not alone for the last 20 years at least. I don't waste my time commenting after every game win or lose even if mostly lose. The score in this last game just begged for a comment.

Trust me, those of us that support football know how 80% of this board feels.

No shit! Maybe something a little different.
Just curious, what would be something different for people to say? The team has proven it's not abysmal, just mediocre. They built some confidence beating a padded schedule and opening up the offense. Two smart moves they should have made long ago. It led to a win against a respectable opponent at home (although ND has now dropped 3 straight and is 2-4 in conference, so are they actually that dominant?). Four wins is nice by ISU standards. Similar to those rare occasions where we've done it in the past, however, we then were beaten soundly by a far better opponent, re-affirming that our roster has a long way to go.

If you truly want to hear something different, a lot rides on these last two games. I don't see us beating Illinois State, even at home, but it's possible. We probably have a better chance of pulling off a rare road win at UNI to close out the season. I can't remember when, if ever, we last won there, but they are awful this season. If we can beat both and finish 6-5, that may be enough to hear something different from a few fans. More interest in seeing if they can take a bigger step forward next year.

It's doubtful we'll match this record next season as we play all four Dakota schools (in a row) and Montana (on the road), but most people won't bother looking at the schedule to know that, so you may get some joining you with foolhardy optimism. Having followed this program for years and having cared as much about it then as you two now profess to, only to watch history repeat itself, I will wait to see the results with very low expectations. But hey, Mallory isn't as bad as Lou West, so yippy, I guess.

Nothing to say to the guys who want to drop football but to just don’t watch. Focus on basketball and baseball coming up. You’re not going to see anything better out of this team.
