Spent the week leading up to the championship game reiterating his commitment to A&M, then it turns out he and his entire coaching staff had all signed with the Longhorns last week, as well as taking half A&Ms players and recruits with them.
Sound familiar?
I understand if anyone here doesn't feel much sympathy towards an $EC team with the way college sports are going currently, but none of that is on their fans, and they absolutely did not deserve this punch in the gut not even 12 hours after their schools biggest athletic achievement in decades. Considering we've had that happen to us twice in the past 3 months, that's not something I would ever wish on any fanbase.
Also, Texas announced they fired their coach and couldn't name the new one yet because "their season isn't over yet" the morning of the CWS final between A&M and Tennessee. The timing made sure that A)the biggest day of the year in college baseball had Texas as the center of attention despite being eliminated weeks ago and B)made their two biggest rivals spend the entire 12 hours leading up to the championship game wondering if their coach is the one leaving.
SLU and Schertz had a graceful exit by comparison.
