The Heisman stuff was a nice dream, but pointless. I just want him to stay healthy and have another solid season for us. It's too bad it's something like the Heisman that gets Kravitz to come to one of our games, but he tries to write for a national perspective for his ESPN buddies, and that's the only thing that would draw national interest. I would like to think there are plenty of Indy readers who would love to know more about Bell either way.

Always nice to have the Indy Star show up to write an article about a bad day. Let him run for two hundred yards next week or score six touchdowns and it will be a four line article on page ten in the bottom corner. Then journalists wonder why no one takes them seriously and reads the paper anymore.....

Hey, it's the teams fault. They finally get serious Indy media coverage, and they lay an egg. I sense a recurring theme here. We should never bitch again about Indy media coverage, because every time we get it, in every sport, we BLOW it big time.

I agree 100% ..... But I think a few on here just bitch to bitch and can always find something to be unhappy about.

I think the same thing can be said about last season's basketball team, after the big win at Vanderbilt we were all primed for a big season in the MVC, then blew it, thus not receiving any media coverage from the Star.

it's almost as if we're jinxed anytime major media comes to town.

It's definitely a fair article. We're obviously biased positively towards Bell too, there's too much hype in my opinion.

No doubt about it. I think he is dead on most the time and always enjoy his column. Columnist love you to hate them, but I think he is quite insightful 90% of the time. I think the older you get, the more leeway you give a columnist.

On this my friend we shall respectfully disagree. I don't think he is even onsite 90% of the time. It seems the older I get the less leeway I have for a self proclaimed expert. We do agree that he was dead on with this particular column. Perhaps I should allow him the benefit of the doubt since I have seldom wasted my time reading his ramblings for the past few years.

Now that Kravitz loves to hate me, and Bally thinks I am under the influence of a mind altering substance I will honestly say that I like what he says about 75% of the time. I don't disagree with most of what he says about 10% of the time. I guess that I think is way off base about 15% of the time. He was dead on with this article.

Guessing Bobby was no where near the stadium tonight. He wouldn't make the drive all the way to Carbondale. Bob Kravitz, you can go ... yourself!!!!!

I've been to Carbondale twice, once for hoops and once for football. That is one long, boring, fricking drive. Since I have an outstanding traffic warrant from 1972, I can't set in foot in the town. I don't want to tempt fate. Anyone else notice that Saluki Stadium is SADLY lacking any atmosphere and is about as boring as it can get. They ought to call it Alumnium Field. Yuk.

There fans leave a lot to be desired. The football game I went to in 1971, a SIU student and his date sat right in front of me and I will never forget the fact that when "nature called", he chose to relieve himself in a bottle of Spanada with his date sitting right there. Right out of woods from Deliverance. Classy bunch-- those Salukis.
