Well, that wraps up what we thought would be the draft candidates...no more...no fewer. While Manus wasn't officially drafted...the Tigers organization is willing to look at him. Of the six, he certainly was the least likely to be drafted. Good luck, Mike...we wish you the best. Now, we just need to find out waht Petricka decides. Has anyone heard what his decision is or might be? Be nice to have him back for his senior year. He could earn more money if he steps up another notch with ISU next season.

Daveinth: Meggs certainly is doing something right. 2009 was a good year in many respects. BUT, the old saying is "I appreciate what you did for me yesterday...but what are you going to do for me today?" Meggs has to step the program up another notch in 2010. Better coaching. Better offense. Better pitching. Continued strong defense. After three years, it is "his" program. I believe he's no longer lingering in someone else's shadow.

MS: I like the direction that the program is going its headed in the right direction I doubt we will see it headed south even with the loss of these kids to the pro ranks I think we have enough talent on the bench to more than fill these shoes

Petricka is still mulling over his options...no decision yet. So, we're losing just one starting pitcher at this point from the junior class. That would be a bonus. Hope he decides to return to school! It'll be interesting to get wind of Meggs aquisitions from the summer recruitingng. I know little about the new coach...but he sounds like he has good all-around knowledge of the game. While Merritt was a VERY nice guy...his depth of knowledge of the game made his primary duties that of an administrator.
