NIT-NO...CBI-NO...Whatever the other one is-Yes...Let's just hope the basketball team has the money in their budget to go to it.

I think if we don't get into the NCAA or the NIT (which is the case this year), then it should be up to the players to decide if they want to play in one of the other post-season tourneys (assuming we get invited).

Doesn't matter which tourney they get in, as long as they get in. You have to raise a banner noting the turning point of the program. Whether the banner hanging in Hulman Center says CBI 2009-2010 or CIT 2009-2010 is irrelevant. Go to one or the other, raise the banner before the first game next season, and get moving forward and continue posting winning records.

It'd be cool to get a home game and fill the old ISU Arena up to the rafters and make it a true home court advantage. 3000 fans in the ISU Arena is a lot more fun than 3000 in the Hulman Center.

The CIT is all for "mid-majors". Our friends Bradley, Drake and Evansville played last year. The CBI has had some they have had some of the bigger boys join in, i.e. Virginia, Washington, Stanford.

Interesting, hadn't thought of that aspect of it.

Plus you get extra practices and games for a relatively young squad. Those extra practices and games will benefit the program down the line.

Is there any truth to the rumor I heard that playing in any post season tourney will help Jake Kelley's cause for a medical red shirt?

I don't think anyone actually knows for sure about Jake. I've heard some folks at ISU say they don't think he'll get a redshirt, but they don't really know for sure and they're going to try to get it...

NCAA=government=asinine bureaucracy

Not going to defend the NCAA...

but if you don't believe SOME sort of overhead is needed...

good grief; if you thought 'old days' of Rupp's/Hall's/Sutton's/Pitino's/Calipari's wildcats or Switzer's sooners or Johnson's hurricanes were bad; toss out ANY type of oversight -- it'll DEFINITELY become the Wild West
