Upgraded to a felony assault. Trial set for October 22nd, GPS device needs to stay on his ankle until then. Sad situation and likely means he has no chance to play this season in the NBA. (he's still available to play but domestic battery not huge PR for the team that signs him).

Lance Stephenson was charged with a felony assault for shoving his girlfriend down the stairs after the Pacers drafted him. Case was eventually dismissed. It might scare teams away, but not necessarily.

Oden doesn't have a criminal history that I'm aware of. I'd be surprised if it's not eventually pled down to a misdemeanor.

Exactly, Maybe because he is high profile, but I would expect this to be plead down since he has no previous history.
With Odens lack of criminal history my guess is he does very little jail time. Is he signed with the heat still? He could conceivably petition the judge to travel for "work" and still play on the road. When I have had clients with road jobs and no prior criminal history this has often been the case.
The felony charge throws a wrench into that though.

It makes you wonder what really happened in that house. Greg has always been a stand up guy and great with fans and kids. I am not saying he isn't guilty of something, just seems way out of character for him.
