The Odum Level
Anyone planning to make the trip to Macomb on the 25th? I'd like to make it down. Does anyone know what to expect at their games? Are tickets easy enough to get at the gate as they are at Memorial Stadium?

Also says that is their homecoming game. If they are like us and get a decent turnout for homecoming it might be pretty full.
There should be a decent turn out but you can always get them at the gate and don't ever spend the money on reserved unless you absolutely have to be on the 50 behind WIU's bench. Which I doubt. In that case you might actually be in someone's seat. Get a GA and sit where ever you want. They never check.
We'll be there for the game. Still debating whether to depart Friday or Saturday. I think we set up shop in the lot just north of the stadium. Most likely try it again this year. Hope we have a good turn out!
Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to seeing WIU's campus and stadium. I've never been to Macomb.
Brace yourself. You may not be able to take it all in. The drive is rough from all directions as Macomb sits in the middle of nowhere. Coming from a big city, I have always liked Macomb as it is nice to get away and is easy to get around. We take a lot of heat about our stadium but for some reason it has never mattered much to me. It just feels like football to me. I used to hear SIU fans complain about their stadium. Not now, of course. Some ISU(red) complain , too. I have been to both. Never really gave either much thought. I know the beer has been cold at all three places and I have seen victories at all three. Give me a seat and access to a john, I'm good. The last time I checked, Wrigley was a dump. Who cares? As much as YSU fans like to talk about their shrine, I met some fans a few years ago that loved the scenery and setting of Hanson Field. It was nice, the leaves were falling at that time. I don't think of WIU as a dump but I guess we are going to need some upgrades to compete in recruiting. We had the only grass stadium until SDSU joined the conference and the grass is usually in excellent shape. I think it has taken a beating this year though with several inches of rain prior to the first game. Our last game with SHSU was the only natural surface they will play on this year. So sometimes it can be to our advantage.
Have a safe trip.
