I really have no guess. I am thinking positively that they might draw a nice, big crowd, but you never know.

I will say that the students could greatly impact the crowd if they showed up...

Agreed...ALOT of it is on the students. Hopefuly they show up and reward this amazing turnaround! Tommorow's attendance will be VERY interesting.

Sadly I'll say around 4,500
FM75, I sure hope you are wrong. My first thought when MEM asked the question was that NOBODY will be happy with the final number, no matter what it is. Just because it is cold, does not automatically mean the fans will stay home, however. My gut feeling (which is pretty accurate after 44 years of this stuff) tells me that there will be more than that. How many more? My guess is 500-1500 more. I understand the students turned out well for the hoop exhibition game earlier and my guess is that they will tomorrow and then many of them will trek out to the stadium. I also know how strongly many feel about showing some recognition to Trent and his team. I also asked 6-8 guys to go with me tomorrow and am coming down by myself so not everything has changed.

I have a fraternity brother coming in from Atlanta so it has caught some momentum from afar. There should be a homecoming-esque crowd there but most likely, that will not happen. I fully believe that next year will draw more of the numbers we would like to see. I say it all the time but ......small steps!

It will happen. I truly believe it. Bottom line, Sunny and near 50 is a pretty nice day to drink some beer, eat some brats, see old friends and end up at the Ballyhoo. It will be a special day, no doubt about it. I just don't think that we should get too bent out of shape if there are only 5,000 there. Just enjoy the day and take it all in. The rest will take care of itself.

Well said my friend! :sycamores:

I'm definitely going to be there as are almost all of my friends. I even convinced a friend of mine from Purdue to come down and would have gotten another if he didn't have fraternity business this weekend. :sycamores:

Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make the trip. I won't bore you with my "lame" excuses. It's just been a hectic week and the weekend doesn't look much better. I do plan to watch the game and deal with the aftermath, good or bad. Count me among those who will be holding down the fort here online.

You just never know with the students. There seems to be a very positive and agressive push to get students there and I really hope it works. With ND and Purdue sucking, IU its typical self and even THE Ohio State not being all that great this year, the students don't have much of a reason to use that old excuse, I am gonna watch "Insert big program school" instead of the Sycamores. The Sycamores have the chance to be in first place in the conference!!!!

I think you will probably see around 7,000 or so...possibly more. I do think it really depends on weather and 'Fun factor"...if the students think it will be fun, they will go....if not they won't. I hope the fun factor has risen enough to get those students out there and cheering for the Sycamores! GO TREES!!

REV, now THERE'S a number we could all live with. I think I could have lived with all the attendance figures from this season but the game with MSU that totally caught me (and most of us) by surprise. Even with that game, we are up 1500-2000K a game from last year but as we have witnessed here, most of us want so much more. I know the days of the 14,500 that we averaged my senior year at State are gone but I truly believe 10K is a doable goal in a couple of years and with the traditionalist returning. Build the Banks of the Wabash facility and that would be a conservative number.

Let's ALL enjoy tomorrow, win or lose. It's a great time to be a SYCAMORE~
