The Sycamores are on their way to winning their third straight series...but the first game of the Creighton series wasn't pretty right out of the chute! But Bacus ended up pitching very well, once he found his pitches.

Dakota Bacus gets the win (5-2), but had to work hard to get it. He went eight innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and one walk. Most of those hits (four) were in the first inning when Creighton plated two runs and threw a wild pitch. While hitting a couple of other bumps, he smoothed out starting in the fifth inning when he retired 12 in a row. He threw 120 pitches on the night. Tyler Browning came on for the ninth. Browning had ten saves in 2010 and sat out 2011 with a medical redshirt after arm surgery. Browning walked the first batter. The next batter flied out to left. The third batter walked to put runners at first and second. Chris Machado replaced Browning with one out and two on. The first batter he faced lined to shortstop and into a doubleplay. Machado gets the save, his second!

Offensively, The Sycamores took advantage of walks and hit batter...combined with timely hitting to get their five runs. So, they had five runs on just eight hits...but they were hit three times and got five walks. Four of those free passes scored for ISU. Kraemer had two doubles (ninth of year) on the night...scoring twice and plating two RBI!

ISU got help from the Bradley Braves as BU hung on to beat #1 MSU 2-1 in Peoria.

ISU has got to hang on to win in Omaha tonight. ISU leads 5-3 in the 7th

I would sure like to know what is keeping Tyler Browning from being as good as or better than he was in 2010? Was there a problem in the re-hab from his 2011 arm surgery? Did the surgery make it so that he had to change his arm motion? Or, is he just lacking confidence? He's a fine you man. I'd love to see him reach his 2010 level where he got 10 save in 30 appearances.

Great to see Bradley beating Missouri State! That's big for us! The final series at Terre Haute features Missouri State and that could be a deciding trio of games. Got to stay even or get ahead of Missouri State in the standings.

I think he's having a hard time with his command. His stuff is good. He has like 16 strikeouts in 11 innings but also around the same amount of walks and hits.

I would agree. I think a few of the guys are having trouble with their command. It seems like last week against Illinois state, they were just sitting dead red on the fastball. On saturday Sean came out and mixed it up a little more and they couldn't hit him.

Bears Ace is out for the weekend. Gotta win 2 now back to back. Nick Petree lowered his era in the loss yesterday down to 0.91 with 59 innings pitched. The last weekend could be interesting, it will be the trees hot bars against the bears ace staff.

I know it's a spelling error, but good one none the less!

We need to bear down and get the sweep. So far this year our bats have been hard on the 2 and 3 pitchers in conference play.Hopefully this will continue.
