Any other old-timers out there remember what basketball is supposed to be?
Watching AZ and FA game. The big guy, defending the drive jumps straight up and the shooter crashes into him as he is shooting.
The foul was called on the defense. BUT, GET THIS! The announcer says it looks like the shooter initiated the contact so it should
be a no-call. NO! It should be an offensive foul!
And what happened to 3 seconds in the lane?
The referees should READ THE RULEBOOK!

I hate it when the offensive player just crashes into the defense and it's a foul.

But there was a rule that was new to me yesterday; I was watching the Nevada/TCU game and the TCU coach got a technical for "gesturing towards the video board." For context, there was a foul called and the TCU coach yelled at the ref and pointed above towards the video board. Got "T'd" up just for that. The coach actually got thrown out of the game during the sequence. It wasn't clear why he got thrown out (he must of said something because his actions didn't warrant being tossed) but it was pretty interesting event

We were having a debate Tuesday night whether a player traveled or not. Some of us said it was because he took 3 steps. The others said no because he only took 2 steps. I don't know what the rules are now but 2 steps use to be traveling. I see things all the time about Bird wouldn't be able to play with the players of today. I think it's the opposite. Without the palming and traveling in every great move the players of today couldn't do much.

Centers in the paint are not required to have a pivot foot.

Want to watch some real stupid stuff get on YouTube and check out the videos of NBA traveling. One guy was walking down the court with the ball shouting out instructions. He took 6 or 7 steps before he was whistled.
