The Nicks Level
there was Duane Klueh who turns 93 today! His #54 hangs in the rafters of Hulman Center and his 182 coaching wins are the most in Indiana State history! I consider myself fortunate to have witnessed some epic battles with Coach Klueh and Tony Hinkle, Gene Bartow and Arad McCutcheon. Thanks for the memories Coach!

Bartow... that's a name that's rarely mentioned... they faced each other... what 6-7 times?

I believe they faced each other from 64-67. That would be what, 8 times? Bartow was mainly mentioned for where he went after leaving Valpo. He did have his moments in the Arena.

Per the 2018-19 ISU MBB, they faced each other 7 times (2x ICC games in 1964-65, 1965-66 and 1966-67)

And what would be the final game in 1966-67 for the Trees, the Great Lakes Regional Championship, Trees lost 77-80 in the ISU Arena

Klueh was 5-2 vs. Bartow; sweeping the 64-65 & 65-66 seasons, split 1966-67 & dropped the Regional title game

Bartow is now in the College Basketball Hall of Fame; chiefly for his Memphis St & UAB tenures; though his Final Four berth with UCLA certainly helped his case...
