This guy wrote a pretty good post MVC, Arch Madness review....and does some real shin kicking in it..almost to the place where he's border line asshole.....but at the same...really calls a spade-a-spade. Reference his San Diego vs. Terre Haute dig.

Of course he's Wichita State centered, and his universe just orbits the Shocker Nation...but none-the-less, he makes some good points for WSU leaving the MVC.

While WSU is running high now in tall Wheat, they may leave the MVC and have the same success that Creighton is enjoying in the Big East.

The one valid point that he makes is, if the Shockers would ever leave the MVC, Arch Madness is done. It's over with....and the rest of the MVC might as well rent the Clay City HS Gym to hold the MVC Tournament.....especially if the remaining MVC teams can't create more success, and have better team followers, than what this years tournament showed.

Don't forget, people were writing the obituary for Arch Madness when Creighton left. All this stuff is cyclical. If WSU leaves, it won't be long before SIU and/or MSU are back as powers, and they'll bring their thousands like they used to.

The really sad thing is that if ISU left, no one would notice our absence in the Lou...

Everyone said the MVC was in trouble when Tulsa left too.

I would argue that Wichita State needs the MVC as much as the MVC needs Wichita State. It seems like over the past 2-3 years this whole "wichita state may leave the MVC and then what would become of the conference" discussion has come up several times, but I have never seen any evidence that any other conference has even kicked the tires on wichita state.

Shockers aren't going anywhere for two reasons,.....football and their location. They don't fit in with any conference from a geography standpoint and conferences are making moves due to football much more than basketball.

Of course, the downside to this is that now that this thread has been started we will get to have some shocker fan jump on and tell us all how lucky we are to have the wheatshockers and how up a creek everyone else would be if the wheatshockers left.

Personally, i would spend as much time lamenting the loss of wichita state leaving as I did Creighton leaving, which is to say, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Lutz is an idiot; he's been grinding on the Shuckers leaving the Valley for years; I don't see the Mtn West taking them; it's populated by 'big, state flagship-like' schools and 3 'big city' schools (San Diego, San Jose and Fresno) that are larger, metro Fresno is twice the size of metro Wichita.

I don't see the American Athl Conf (AAC) taking them either; I'd put $$ on West Virginia joining the AAC before the AAC takes Wichita.

The AAC is bringing in Navy for football... why bring a non-football school like Wichita city?

AND if they should leave the Valley (which I doubt), the Valley will survive. Tulsa left, MVC still here, Creighton left... MVC still here.

Go back further... the Big 6 (8), (1/2 of the current Big 12 (10) are former Valley members... the Valley survived. Memphis, St Louis, Cincinnati, Louisville left the Valley.... the Valley has survived

Oh, please, please leave WSU. Put us out of our misery. It must be so difficult having to carry such a huge burden on your shoulders by being all the MVC has to offer. For your own good, please leave now before the rest of us sink this ship that you, and only you, are keeping afloat. WSU HAS NO FOOTBALL. NOBODY WANTS YOU BECAUSE YOU DON'T PLAY THE SPORT THAT MAKES THE MONIES! YOU ARE NOT NEARLY AS RELEVANT AS YOU THINK YOU ARE. FOOTBALL RULES ALL IN THE NCAA LANDSCAPE.

Congrats WSU, you've been pretty good at basketball for a few years. You bring the most fans to Arch Madness. You've won two regular season titles in a row. You've also only won Arch Madness once...one time...LESS THAN TWO. This whole superiority complex bullshit needs to quiet down. You need the MVC. Sorry, it's true.
