Not surprising. Even though ISU was down in the standings at Pre-Nats, there weren't that many Great Lakes teams ahead of them.

they'd have beaten Purdue if they would have been in Purdue's race, PU's 5th man was way back

Interesting that Indiana is ranked ahead of Wisconsin in the regional pole, but Wisconsin is one place ahead of Indiana in the national pole.

that is interesting, here is the national poll, the top 5 teams from the Great Lakes region are all ranked (or receiving points), it seems the gap from Ohio State to #6 Butler and #7 Indiana State is pretty big. If ISU can run an outstanding race at the regional meet I think they could beat MSU and OSU, those 2 didn't have particularly good races at pre-nationals. Plus maybe ISU will be better over the longer distance? Hard telling?

The NCAA championship should be pretty good in terms of who gets the team title. I'd probably pick Oklahoma State if somebody put a gun to my head, but I think there are teams currently ranked lower that could sneak into the mix by November 22.

As for our Trees, my first hope is that they score a convincing MVC win. That might go a long way towards putting them in the right frame for a great regional race.
