Depressed Fanbase

At least one other team in Indiana has a more depressed fanbase than ours. Most of them were planning on a trip to the Final 4 every year; could have told them probably never again.

And until their last game the folks down Bloomington way weren't exactly jumping for joy either. They did rush the floor too!

Seems the Butler faithful think they have a guy out of control. "Nuf said.

Well, we won two we could have easily lost, and lost two we could have easily won - so 7-4 is just about right. If we'd won two, lost one, won two, lost one, won two, lost two, won one, we'd all be happy right now. The fact that we won one, lost one, won six, lost three makes things seem worse.

Now, we can argue about who should be playing and how much - and that's fine - but in the end, we don't make the calls. One thing we can do is not panic. The same guys who won seven games are still on the team. We'll be fine. No reason to think otherwise yet. We all knew the schedule was favorable and that we had a rough patch ahead. We've hit that rough patch, and if we hadn't lost to Evansville, we'd all be cool with things right now.

The team is going to be fine, but we need to make sure our fanbase sticks with them and the new fans keep coming back. That starts Tuesday.

I'm bummed too, but when I step back and look at the big picture, I realize the sky really isn't falling. It just seems like it sometimes.

I think most of us intelligent ISU fans and students realize that we need to start playing better, but the tournament is the most important part of our season. I'd say finishing 4th (MoState, WSU, UNI) would be great going into the tourney, and I don't think ANY of these Valley teams want to play us a 3rd time. We just, like I said, need to start playing better basketball and finish the season somewhere over .500 (4-3). When we get to the MoVal tournament its a new season, because everyone will be playing for their seasons.

Specifically the Aces don't want to see us. It is very hard to beat a good team 3 times in a season. And we are a good team. Those that split with us won't be too happy to see us. We can't allow the lower echelon teams to get off to a good start.
