Sycamore Proud

The Nicks Level
Quotes from Bulldog land

I have just spent several minutes on the Drake message board looking for something interesting about Saturday's game. I found NOTHING! Not a word about it. The main topic of discussion seems to be head coach Mark Phelps--seems he is not very popular in D+ land.

While I'm on Drake topics, I feel obligated to make a comment about Drake Nation. Comparing DN to Sycamore Pride is much like comparing a Yugo to Rolls Royce. To grade it at D+ is being generous, very generous.

I have a road game Saturday night and it will be late when I get home. Depending on my attitude upon getting home I may or may not do a Quotes thread then or after the Super Bowl. Of course, if they don't take more interest in the game there will be nothing to report.

It might be a short report unless they win and a few more people show up to comment on it. Even in our down years this board has been pretty active. Heck, the football forum took off while we were deep in the losing streak (mostly thanks to Miles' arrival and the hope that brought).

It's late on Friday night and they have a thread started about noon today that has 4, yes Tree fans 4, posts. I'm going back to see if there is anything of interest.

From Friday at 11:45 pm. on D+N:

Indiana State is probably the hottest team in the MVC right now, coming off a double digit win at Wichita State. Which Drake team will show up?

Knowing our luck, the one that beat Creighton and will destroy ISU's at large hopes and get Phelps another year

****GAME TIME IS 6:30 PM****
I can picture half the crowd arriving after the game has started, thinking it's a 7 PM start as usual.

ISUb's Manny Arop however, is one of the best players I have seen in the league. The whole team seems fast. They stole the ball from Wichita which looked like at will. The Bulldogs are going to have to go to another level to out rebound and out hustle the Sycamore's.

hard to imagine this Drake team beating the Trees with a healthy Jake Odum. Turnovers will be the key for the error prone bulldogs.

Arop is the real deal. Their guards rebound on Indiana State. I'm thinking 20 turnovers might be too many for this team.

Saturday 6:10

Odum's chinstrap beard is quite possibly the nastiest facial hair in all the conference.

Does anyone have a descent scout on the Trees? Other than the fact they've put themselves in a position of being a bubble team, I know nothing about them.

We continually are big dogs at home.

It would be interesting to see statistics on win-loss based on crowd size at the Knapp and whether students are in session.
