Former Sycamores SID Ed McKee retires from George Washington University

A big shout out to former Indiana State sports information director as well as former Indiana Pacers media director Ed McKee, who recently announced his retirement from George Washington University. Ed had been an assistant athletic director for communications at GW. Ed got me into the sports information business at Indiana State, plucking a young kid from the sidelines of ISU's Memorial Stadium when I was was serving as a student manager for the football program. He taught me the basics of working in sports information. Those were heady times at ISU with the likes of Larry Bird, Kurt Thomas, Wally Johnson, Tunch Ilkin. In addition to the men's basketball team going to the NCAA finals in 1979, the men's gymnastics team tied for the national title and the baseball program made its first trip to the NCAA tournament.
