what happened to concerts at hulman center? in the 70's, there were some great ones. now...(crickets chirping)...

elvis, frank sinatra, kiss, reo speedwagon, chicago....

saw john denver, glenn campbell, alabama, barbara mandrell there......

it's...

likely suffered like most of the concert venues....

it's likely perceived as 'old,' 'small,' 'poor market,' etc, etc, etc

Still seems this size arena would attract a certain range of acts. It seems that touring groups go from very small venues to super-size arenas with nothing in between. Doesn't make sense to me that there aren't some acts who could advance their career with a 10000 strong crowd. I saw Foreigner, Seeger, REO, Steve Martin, Styx, Boston, Journey, Olivia, Cheap Trick and many others there. Regret not seeing Kansas, Nugent, Kiss, ELO, etc. when they were there and I lived within walking distance of the place.

part of the issue could be HC management...

The Haute also 'suffers' from "only being an hour from Indy..." so how many acts want to play Indy; tear down drive one hour and set up?

Josh Gracin a famous country star, played a free concert at Fairbanks Park last night with HI-99 as sponsors.

Don't you find it amazing that it only an hour for artists and 2 hours for the Colts?:confused:

well..went to the doobie brothers, chicago concert thursday night.....

at verizon music center....very good concert......the doobies opened up and played for about a hour....then, after a short break, chicago came on and played for about an hour or so....then...after a brief intermission...both bands came out together and teamed up on hit songs.....

the only bad part was early in the chicago concert...they had a woman come out and sing...she had won the chance to sing a solo with the group after donating a bunch of money to their favorite charity...the fight against breast cancer.....she was terrible....lol....i had hoped that one of the group's singers would have stepped up and helped her warble through the song...but they didn't....how bad was she????...think rosanne arnold bad....lol.....other than one brief (thankfully!!!!) downturn...overall it was a great concert by the two groups....especially the combined finale....three drummers.....five horns.....five screaming guitars....lol.....

that's my music review for the evening.....lol....
