From what I'm hearing, I'm guessing the Goldman Sachs did nothing wrong. It's sure frustrating that the SEC does not go after crooks and then files frivolous suits against innocent firms. I just wish they would do their job.
Do you think this is politically motivated? If it is, someone should go to jail.

Everything connected to Washington is politically motivated. Nothing happens without politicians angling for the best way to advance their power and career. Bunch of bums...

As to the specific Goldman Sachs situation, I can't wait to see the whole story come out. If they made some money by using a legal hedge against losses, that's exactly what they're supposed to do. If they lied to investors about the risk associated with some investment, then there should be serious penalties. Will be interesting to see...

I would agree that they are guilty of misrepresenting the bundled investments. But I'll bet their clients that were investing millions of dollars knew exactly what they were getting. Every deal has two satisfied sides.
