Also if I'm not mistaken Coach Lansing said he was friends with Coach Few of Gonzaga when Arop decided to come to ISU.That might help too!

That would be great, especially since the played the Zags in the NCAA tournament in 2001, I think. Also, the Star also reported that Butler is trying to schedule Temple in Indy. Too bad we can't work something out especially since they are now on our football schedule.

So Gonzaga is playing at Butler in 2012, how cool would it be if ISU could work with Gonzaga to come to Terre Haute for a game too. That would give Manny Arop a shot to play against his old teammates??

Unfortunately a former player on the team is not a good reason to schedule a game with that team; actually it is a good reason not to do it. I am sure Manny Arop would welcome it (and on his new home court nonetheless) but while Mark Few may have been born at night, it was not last night? Don't hold your breath for this one.

I certainly understand that. I just would think that Gonzaga would try to get a 2nd game scheduled for the midwest since they're gonna travel all that way. Why play only one when there are SEVERAL D-I universities in Indiana itself that would want to get a shot to play Gonzaga here, then travel out to Spokane in 2013 to return the game. I agree it's not likely to happen for ISU, but who's to say ISU won't at least try? Hopefully we will.

I'd imagine that Gonzaga will just choose to renew their series with Notre Dame for another two years if they were looking for another (they aren't though)
