This column that Greg Couch did reminds of when Larry Bird first played at Indiana State. ISU was getting national media attention and comments, all positive. But locally, it was a "prove it to me" mentality. After it came to a point where the national and regional coverage was embarassing the state-wide media, then they finally -- grudgingly -- came on board and started covering the team.
