I've seen the previews on TV and it will definitely be a movie that we'll go see.

The commercials give me the impression that it's all about drawing people with over the top action and that the actual history takes a back seat. Would like to know if I'm right or wrong. Lots of cliche shots in the commercials - the guys all walking together in a "Reservoir Dogs" style moment. Is it an honest movie, or just another flick exploiting history to appease the action junkies?
 
I saw the previews for this movie last weekend and it looked way cool.

Did these guys really go against ME262's as depicted, or is this the directors revised interpretation of history?

They did. How well it is depicted, I don't know.

If it's like Pearl Harbor (the movie), I will despise it to no end.

Pearl Harbor? If it wasn't for Kate Beckinsail, that movie was a total bust (no pun intended). From the "exit" interviews I saw on the news in Indy tonight, I'd say this is a beautiful movie and one everyone should see. Since I have only been in a movie theater since 1991, I doubt I will see it, however. Fricking popcorn costs too much~
 
"Inspired by true events" usually means extreme liberties were taken. Dialogue is pretty blah in this trailer. I'm looking for something genuine, not another Disney-style, cookie cutter movie. I'm sure Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard have some great scenes (they do in anything they're in) but I have my doubts. To me, it looks like history and great actors being exploited to boost up another routine action movie. I want to be wrong though.

(And note the cliche, slow motion Reservoir Dogs scene I mentioned)

Hey Bent,

Well if you despised Pearl Harbor, well you're going to go into full Intercontinental Ballistic mode with Red Tails!!!

For me, I'm going into full LOATHE mode.

I just watched the Red Tails trailer and after watching it, SCREW THIS MOVIE.

Now everyone else watch the trailer a couple of times, and please tell me that they aren't saying, that all the White Fighter Pilot escorts of the B-17's bailed at the first site of German fighter planes, and that they could only think of themselves and not the bombers.

If that is not what is said, then listen to the words of the White Fighter Pilots at the start of the trailer..."Bandits, hundreds of them...they have German markings....let's bail".

And then the rest of the trailer directly implies that the White Fighter Pilots are cowards and the only people who will stand and fight the German fighters and protect the Bombers are the Negro Fighter Pilots. What a bunch of bullshit, and what a slap in the face to all of those American heroes who gave their lives fighting for our country.
