Hear that you are not able to either purchase a game ticket or gain admittance to the Hulman Center for a 7:00 pm game any earlier than 6:00 pm. (one hour before the game). Is that the standard policy ? Know someone who dropped off family members in front of the HC about 5:45 and went to take care of some business and later discovered that they could not get in the building at the exhibition game vs. Lewis.

i feel like thats how they were doing it last year. the ticket office runs their normal business hours in the day. they close up shop some time in the afternoon and then reopen an hour before the game.

The ISU Hulman Center Ticket Office is open Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. Doors open 1 hour prior to tip-off. Tickets are always available to order online at ticketmaster.com and then can be picked up at the Ticket Office.

Now, i am usually the first to agree with anyone that has problems with ISU and tickets...lord knows I have had my own issues. But I am questioning why one would want to get to a basketball game more than 1 hour prior to the game starting? I am just curious?

Good point, Sack. When we start selling out every game and there are a very limited amount of tickets available, then we will be able to afford to put someone there during "off" hours. In the meantime, we know there are 3,500-4,000 tickets available EVERY game and 60 minutes ahead of game time is quite adequate. And while we are are on the topic, I give the Ticket Lady (not sure what her screen name was) who responded the other day kudos for coming on here because it is not always positive thoughts being spoken on here about the HC and if nothing else, she might see or read something that shows her a different perspective.

It is not that I don't think it is legitimate to want to get to your seats more than 60 minutes prior to the game. I only question it because, well, its a basketball game. Go to the Terminal, go to the Copper Bar, go to the Bally, go to the bookstore, go to the Saratoga, go to just about anywhere around there and have a drink then leave for the game that starts at 6 PM at 5 PM, by the time you get to HC, which would only take 5 minutes or less (if at the Terminal it is going to take you about 1 minute) and all if fine. If it is an issue of inability to walk (older fans as an example) I understand that...I really do! But, might I also add that anyone that has issues with that, can call campus security and request assistance from a Community Service Officer, who will come in a golf cart. But I am pretty sure they are not going to pick up a fan from a bar...but they will pick up a fan from anywhere on campus for a game that needs assistance...so, if you are at the Bally, walk outside and say that you need assistance to HC from the parking lot at the corner of 8th and Chestnut...then waive them over.

I brought up the issue primarily because the Hulman Center was only open one hour prior to gametime & not because of being able to purchase tickets (lord knows that is a seperate issue that rears its ugly head all on its own from time to time). Yes, I planned to meet some folks & drink a beer or two or three and left family in front of the HC. They asked at the time if they could get in and i said "sure you can". Well guess what.........????????
I suppose they probably can't afford to pay the ticket takers or ushers until 6:00 or is it 6:05 ?

Not playing the devil's advocate here, Sack but you can buy them 24-7 on Ticketmaster and pick the exact seat. Before you throw it right back it me, I do NOT like to pay their fee either but that it is often why it is called a "convenience" fee.
