Everyone should read the article. Pretty hilarious. Seems like most institutions can't take the heat from the evaluation.

Folks at IU sure got Butt Hurt.

If you track the formation of that group (NCTQ) and their founders, you'll see that from the outset, they didn't get a lot of participation from universities, seemingly because NCTQ didn't want to do the hard work of traveling, meeting, discussing the issue but rather wanted to crunch data and reach a conclusion based on data crunching. I've not found an accreditation that will be lost because NCTQ finds a college's data is bad...

Does the NCTQ have a "better" accreditation process, more "highly valued" than any of the Higher Ed accreditation boards?

NCTQ has evaluated reading curriculums before, most recently in 2020, but said this year’s evaluation came after a two-year revision process of how they evaluate teacher prep programs that involved an expert advisory panel, technical advisory group and a public comment period to get feedback from leaders in the education field."

How much confidence should I have in an article that uses 'curriculums' as the plural of 'curriculum'?

Also, it seems these grades are applied to a school based on the curriculum it teaches and not on the effectiveness of its graduates to teach students to read. Given the dismal status of reading proficiency in this country, it seems to me that the new (and experienced) teachers themselves should be under increased scrutiny as well as the curriculum in which each is trained.
